Researchers at Galaxy Research have uncovered a significant security breach involving the draining of 1,367 BTC from addresses generated by Coldcard wallets. The incident highlights vulnerabilities in Bitcoin's security protocols and prompts users to reassess their security measures.

The analysis indicates that three suspected attack waves targeted Coldcard-generated Bitcoin addresses, resulting in the loss of $88.6 million. The attacks involved a total of 4,585 Bitcoin addresses, with similar transaction patterns suggesting a possible single operator for the first two waves.

Coldcard is known for its robust security features, including offline signing that ensures private keys remain isolated from internet threats. However, this incident underscores the need for enhanced protective measures in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
