Column N.A. Integrates Stablecoin Support into Core Banking Platform
Column N.A., a US-based federally chartered bank, has integrated support for stablecoins USDC and USDT into its core banking platform. The move allows fintech companies to use these digital assets directly within their existing fiat infrastructure.
The integration enables seamless movement between USDC, USDT, and traditional currencies across various payment networks, including ACH, FedNow, RTP, Fedwire, and SWIFT, without the need for prefunding requirements or third-party intermediaries.
Column's chartered bank status provides a structural edge over competitors like Marqeta and Mastercard's BVNK acquisition. As a bank, Column owns its own ledger, processor, and banking rails under one regulatory framework, eliminating counterparty risk and settlement delays associated with middleware providers.
The bank has seen substantial traction since the launch, reporting tens of billions in annualized stablecoin transaction volume. This figure suggests that Column had been quietly onboarding clients before the public announcement.
