Commodity Trading Volumes on Kalshi Surpass Crypto Growth by Four Times

Share

Kalshi's commodity trading volume has surpassed its early crypto growth by four times, reaching over $400 million in monthly trades. This milestone was achieved just seven months after the platform launched.

The boom in retail trading led Kalshi to introduce commodity prediction markets for products like oil, gas, and metals, which have driven strong performance and appetite for these contracts.

Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour attributes the success to improved liquidity on the platform, saying 'Liquidity is very hard to get off the ground because of how many people you need participating actively.'

The company's revenue has seen a significant windfall, with trading volumes exceeding initial estimates from its 2026 FIFA World Cup partnership.
