Comox Valley Resident Accused of Crypto Trading Bot Scam

Share

A former Comox Valley resident and business owner has been accused of cryptocurrency fraud by the BC Securities Commission (BCSC). Connor Sinclair Gardiner-Ingram allegedly convinced dozens to invest in cryptocurrency trading bots, promising profits after a specific time period. However, instead of using the funds for the trading bots, Gardiner-Ingram used the money to purchase luxury goods, jewelry, vehicles, and unrelated travel.

The BCSC alleges that between October 7, 2021, and February 28, 2024, Gardiner-Ingram received approximately $4.6 million from investors for the trading bots. However, he did not use the funds as promised and instead used them for personal expenses.

Gardiner-Ingram operated a cryptocurrency investment company called 'Alpha Alliance,' which claimed to be registered in Ontario, British Columbia, or Canada. However, the BCSC found no corporate entity with that name exists in those jurisdictions.
