Consensys Pushes US IPO Plans to Fall 2026 Amid Crypto Market Downturn
Consensys, the Ethereum development firm behind MetaMask, has delayed its planned US public offering until fall 2026. The company had been targeting a confidential S-1 registration statement filing with the SEC around February 2026.
The delay follows a sustained crypto market downturn that made a near-term listing impractical. Market conditions in February 2026 led to a sell-off, triggered by macroeconomic uncertainty and reduced expectations for interest rate cuts.
Consensys is one of several crypto firms that have stepped back from listing plans in response to market conditions. Exchange giant Kraken and hardware wallet maker Ledger have also paused their IPO preparations.
