Construction Contractors Embracing Cryptocurrency for Financial Freedom
Crypto adoption has seen significant growth among construction contractors in the US, making up 13% of crypto holders in this sector. These tradespeople are using cryptocurrency as a form of money that can be accessed at any hour, just like their tools and vehicles.
Jake, owner of Marin Design & Build in California, found control over his finances with crypto, giving him autonomy to decide how he uses it for investing, paying employees, or retirement. He's not alone, as 54% of holders cited financial independence as the top benefit, up from 49% last year.
Crypto has become integrated into Clayton's plumbing business in Texas, and his company accepts it as a payment option alongside cards, checks, and cash. Over 37% of construction workers who hold crypto also accept it as business payments, with more than half expecting to include it in their financial planning within the next two to three years.
The use of crypto is becoming increasingly widespread among tradespeople, with over one in four adults now owning cryptocurrency, up from one in five last year. This growth has led to a shift in how payroll and employee payments are handled, with more businesses considering offering crypto as a payment option to their employees.
