Corporate Bitcoin Buying Slows Sharply Amid Falling Prices and Tighter Financing Conditions
Publicly listed companies have sharply reduced their Bitcoin purchases over the past three months. This slowdown is attributed to falling prices and tighter financing conditions, which have weakened corporate demand.
According to recent data, these companies added approximately 5,900 BTC to their treasuries during this period, a significant decrease from the more than 100,000 BTC acquired during the same time last year. Strategy, a NASDAQ-listed company, was responsible for most of the recent buying, adding 4,603 BTC in late August at an average price of $80,318 per Bitcoin.
The group's treasury holdings now carry a market value of around $65.7 billion, but Strategy has paused further Bitcoin accumulation since mid-September. Instead, it repurchased $139.3 million worth of its STRC preferred shares.
