Cosmos Hub Halted by Neutron Governance Incident, Restart Restores Block Production

Cosmos Hub recently experienced a 24-hour and 48-minute halt in block production due to a governance incident related to Neutron. The interruption occurred when voting power was purchased for 20,199 USDC in connection with the Neutron proposal.

The voting power was staked just 12 minutes before an expedited Neutron proposal closed. This move triggered a temporary shutdown of the Hub's block production, leaving it offline for over a day.

After the restart, approximately 1.23 million ATOM tokens were transferred from a wallet linked to the Neutron governance incident. The funds associated with this transfer are believed to be connected to the recent proposal that led to the halt in block production.
