Cosmos Hub Validators Recover $2.1M in ATOM from Exploiter

On September 22, Cosmos Hub validators withdrew $2.1 million in ATOM from the wallet of an exploiter who had taken advantage of Neutron's vulnerabilities.

The attack allowed the exploiter to drain around $9.4 million from contracts held by Astroport and Drop, with most of the funds immobilized on chains.

A proposal filed on September 19 claimed to be research into allowing AI agents to run a test network, but actually contained code to grant admin control to the proposer's key.

The proposal passed with 81.88% voting yes, and most of those votes were bought at the last minute for around $0.00064 per token.
