CPI Meets Expectations, Crypto Markets Remain Unfazed

The U.S. July core consumer price index (CPI) came in at 2.5%, meeting market expectations and sparking a muted response from crypto markets.

Headline CPI rose by 3.4% year-over-year, matching forecasts and easing from the prior month's reading of 3.5%. Core CPI, which strips out food and energy prices, also matched estimates at 2.5%, down from 2.6% in June.

The data provided no immediate shock to digital asset markets, with Bitcoin and top altcoins barely budging after the release.

Traders who had positioned for a hotter print were forced to unwind their bets, but there was no euphoric buying following the announcement. The steady macro background has allowed a parallel trend to mature: the tokenization of real-world assets has quietly scaled, with on-chain RWA value crossing the $20 billion mark recently.
