Cronos has halted its network following a significant exploit targeting Tectonic, its largest lending protocol. According to on-chain analysis, an estimated $119.5 million in assets are at risk due to manipulation of TONIC's governance token.

The attacker exploited the system by manipulating TONIC's oracle price, increasing it 6.46 times in a single block and allowing access to approximately $125.6 million in borrowing capacity. The attacker subsequently withdrew a wide range of assets from the lending markets, including USDC, USDT, WBTC, WETH, and CRO.

Cronos has suspended the network while security teams investigate the incident. Tectonic has launched an investigation and advised users to avoid interacting with the platform until its security is established.
