Crypto Bill Likely to Fail Due to Unresolved Issues

Share

A proposed cryptocurrency bill in the US Senate may face significant challenges and ultimately fail due to unresolved issues, according to policy analyst Amanda Fischer.

Fischer, who is the policy director and chief operating officer at Better Markets, a nonprofit focused on America's financial and economic issues, made her prediction during an appearance on the New Normal webcast with Victor Rocha and David Bean of the Indian Gaming Association.

Selleg spoke at a White House meeting where President Trump urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act, but Fischer believes the bill will not receive the required cloture votes due to outstanding issues such as President Trump's crypto business entanglements and concerns from traditional financial industry regarding decentralized markets.
