Crypto Billionaires Fuel Reform UK with £72m Double Donation

Share

Reform UK has received another £36 million donation from a cryptocurrency billionaire, following Ben Delo's revelation on Friday of his own £36 million contribution. Thai-based businessman Christopher Harborne said he was matching Delo's donation, citing a 'competitive spirit'.

Harborne stated that the donation is 'a philanthropic gift to our country', intended to help Reform prepare for government. He emphasized the need for a 'profitable and dynamic economy' to address existential threats such as nuclear war, AI, and climate change.

This donation comes as MPs backed measures including a cap on overseas donations at £100,000 and a suspension of funding through cryptocurrency. The draft legislation still needs to be passed by the House of Lords to become law.
