The adoption of crypto cards has been on the rise, with monthly payment volume reaching $759 million as of July 31, according to a recent survey by a16z crypto.

RedotPay currently holds the largest share among major crypto cards, followed closely by Ether.fi (ETHFI), KAST, and Karta, which have steadily expanded their market share since late last year.

Crypto card users can make offline payments by depositing stablecoins with an issuer or using self-custodied stablecoins without a bank account. This allows holders to spend their crypto at millions of merchants that accept traditional card networks, improving spending convenience for stablecoin holders and expanding global users' access to U.S. dollars.

The growth in monthly volume reflects increasing adoption of stablecoins as a medium of exchange, not just a store of value. The survey's findings align with broader industry trends: stablecoin transaction volumes have surged over the past year, and payment infrastructure is evolving to support real-time settlements.
