Crypto.com Files With CFTC as Cronos Price Surges on Equity Perpetual Hopes
Crypto.com's recent filing with the CFTC has sent Cronos (CRO) price soaring by about 6% this Friday.
The move comes after CEO Kris Marszalek announced that Crypto.com had filed with the CFTC to list equity perpetuals in the United States, following a Form 1-N acknowledgement by the SEC last week.
An equity perpetual is a futures contract on a stock with no expiry date. In the US, such a contract sits with both market regulators, so Crypto.com needs the SEC and the CFTC to list it.
Crypto.com Derivatives North America (Nadex) filed its Form 1-N on September 14, which was acknowledged by the SEC on September 16. The notice registers Nadex as a securities exchange for the sole purpose of trading security futures, effective the day it was filed.
