Crypto.com Gets Green Light for Single-Stock Futures in US

Crypto.com has made significant strides in its U.S. derivatives business by registering North American Derivatives Exchange (Nadex) for trading security futures under Section 6(g) of the Securities Exchange Act.

The registration, which became effective on September 14th, allows Nadex to operate as a national securities exchange solely for trading security futures products.

This move is significant because it enables Crypto.com to offer single-stock futures to U.S. customers, with the first contracts planned to be cash-settled futures on individual equities such as Apple, Advanced Micro Devices, Amazon, and Meta Platforms.

The exchange plans to charge $0.10 for each one-share security-futures contract, with trading hours not yet fixed uniformly for the proposed stock products.

Nadex already operates under CFTC oversight, having been designated a contract market in 2004, and its clearing arm is registered as a derivatives clearing organization permitted to clear margined futures and fully collateralized derivatives.
