Crypto.com Pushes for 24/7 Stock Trading in US Market
Crypto.com is pushing to bring 24/7 stock trading to the US market, just as regulators are debating the merits of continuous equity trading. The company's Nadex exchange has registered with the SEC to trade security futures products, effective September 14.
CEO Kris Marszalek says Crypto.com is working with the SEC and CFTC to bring single-stock perpetual futures to US traders. While this doesn't mean Nvidia perpetuals are already approved or available in the US, it's a significant development in the push towards continuous trading.
The timing of this announcement coincides with a six-hour roundtable discussion held by the SEC on the same day, specifically focused on preparations for 24-hour US stock trading. Regulators and market participants discussed issues such as overnight liquidity, surveillance, settlement, cybersecurity, and what would be required to move further towards continuous trading.
