Crypto.com Seeks SEC Approval for Single-Stock Perp Futures
Crypto.com's derivatives arm has filed for registration as a national securities exchange with the SEC, a move that paves the way for the listing of single-stock perpetual futures. The filing was made on September 14, and the registration took effect immediately, without the need for an SEC approval vote.
The North American Derivatives Exchange (Nadex), which is owned by Crypto.com, has been operating under a notice regime that allows it to trade security futures products. This means that Nadex can now list single-stock futures, but the question remains as to how these contracts will be margined and what hours of trading will apply.
Crypto.com's CEO, Kris Marszalek, has stated that the company is working with both the SEC and CFTC to bring single-stock perpetual futures to market. He sees this as a way to combine the innovations of digital asset markets with those of U.S. capital markets.
