Crypto.com Unveils Tokenized Stocks for Mobile App Users
Crypto.com has expanded its offerings with the launch of Tokenized Stocks, allowing eligible users to invest in U.S. equities and exchange-traded funds through its mobile app.
The platform offers products tracking 1,500 underlying stocks and funds, with investments starting from $1. The initial lineup includes popular names such as Nvidia Corp (NVDA), Tesla Inc. (TSLA), and Apple Inc. (AAPL), as well as commodity-focused funds like the SPDR Gold Shares ETF (GLD) and iShares Silver Trust (SLV).
Crypto.com's Tokenized Stocks differ from conventional shares in that investors do not directly own the companies or funds they track. Instead, the derivative instruments aim to mirror price movements in their underlying stocks or ETFs.
The platform uses its existing liquidity and trade execution infrastructure, with assets supporting the tokenized products held in custody through Alpaca, a U.S.-regulated self-clearing broker-dealer that provides infrastructure for over 90% of the tokenized U.S. stock and ETF market.
