Crypto Companies Spend Millions to Shape Midterm Election Debate
With the 2026 midterm elections just around the corner, crypto companies are ramping up their efforts to influence lawmakers and shape the regulatory landscape. So far, an estimated $189 million has been poured into the midterm elections by crypto firms in hopes of passing a new piece of legislation known as the Clarity Act.
Among these companies, Coinbase Global (COIN +4.28%), MicroStrategy (MSTR +3.42%), and Circle Internet Group (CRCL +4.90%) are leading the charge to take crypto mainstream.
Coinbase has taken a prominent role in shaping the debate around the Clarity Act, with CEO Brian Armstrong highlighting the benefits of crypto for financial independence worldwide. Meanwhile, MicroStrategy, as the largest Bitcoin treasury company, is pushing for increased government support for Bitcoin (BTC -0.99%) purchases.
Circle Internet Group has been advocating for a new financial infrastructure powered by stablecoins, signing up institutions and fintech firms to its Arc blockchain network.
Of these three companies, Coinbase is the top pick among investors due to its efforts to grow the crypto market and transition into an 'everything exchange' beyond just cryptocurrencies.
