Crypto.com's ai.com Delay Leaves Rivals in the Lead
Crypto.com's ambitious AI project, ai.com, is still in stealth mode nearly eight months after its highly publicized Super Bowl debut. The platform promised to revolutionize personal productivity with a wide range of tasks, from trading stocks to updating online dating profiles.
The $15 million ad during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl in February generated massive interest, causing the website to crash within minutes as users flocked to reserve a handle for their own personal AI agent. However, nearly eight months later, the website continues to display a message that AI agent generation is queued due to high demand.
A Crypto.com spokesperson confirmed that ai.com is still being worked on and that they are 'happy to provide more details when we fully launch to the public.'
The prolonged wait comes as rival exchanges have already begun offering AI assistants focused on narrower tasks, such as trading and portfolio management. Robinhood recently announced new in-app AI agents that can perform automated trading, while Kraken added AI-powered financial tools to help users identify investment opportunities.
