Crypto Crowd Turns Against Trump: 'Cash Grab' Charges Mount
Young crypto investors are increasingly viewing President Donald Trump's involvement in the industry as a 'cash grab' to make money off his popularity. This shift in opinion comes as his support among young voters has dropped significantly, from 43% to 19%, according to a recent Fox News poll.
Participants in focus groups, including David from South Carolina, have expressed criticism towards Trump's crypto endeavors, labeling them a way to prey on his followers and make a profit. 'Why does he need to keep doing it? He's literally a billionaire. Like, how much more money does he need?' David asked.
Investors in Trump's own memecoin and crypto companies, such as Morten Christensen, have also reported a sharp drop in sentiment, signaling eroding trust among key crypto backers. Christensen noted that Trump's reputation had suffered and was 'not as good as it was when he was running for president.'
Trump has earned over $500 million from World Liberty Financial, a token sales company that issued a dollar-pegged stablecoin called USD1, which has a market capitalization of over $4 billion.
