Crypto Deal-Making Plunges to Near-Halt

The crypto deal-making market has come to a near-halt, according to Blockworks Research. The firm tracked only 44 total deals announced in July, down from 355 in Q1 2026. This represents a sharp decline of over half from the quarterly pace.

Of those 44 deals, 41 were fundraising rounds, 2 were mergers and acquisitions, and 1 was a debt financing arrangement. The total value of these deals is not specified, but it's worth noting that July's deal count would be more typical of a single week in a healthy market.

The Bitcoin price trading range of $60,000 to $62,000 during this period has likely contributed to the decline in venture capital enthusiasm. ETF outflows have also compounded this dynamic, signaling that institutional money is exiting regulated vehicles.
