Crypto Enters New Era of Exponential Growth
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently spoke at the United Nations about the potential for exponential growth in cryptocurrency. He compared this growth to earlier advances in nuclear technology, the internet, and artificial intelligence.
Hoskinson noted that exponential technologies can appear slow at first but quickly gain momentum. 'Exponential technologies are counterintuitive in that very little does something, a little bit more does everything,' he said.
He also pointed to the development of blockchain technology as an example of rapid progress. With tokenization, traditional assets such as equities and currencies can be represented on-chain, allowing for faster transactions and settlement.
Hoskinson cited the growth in tokenized equity data, which rose from approximately $600 million at the beginning of 2025 to around $3 billion. He emphasized that technologies like blockchain and AI can grow much faster than initially estimated as adoption and efficiency improve.
