Crypto ETF Assets Plummet Amidst Fee Disparities and Investor Caution
The crypto ETF space has experienced significant fluctuations in assets under management and fees. According to SEC filings, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF had $43.386 billion in net assets as of June 2026, a decline from $67.401 billion six months earlier.
The same fund reported annual costs ranging from 0.21% to 2.91%, with the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF holding an expense ratio of 2.91%. In contrast, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF had an annual cost of 0.12%
Grayscale's legacy Bitcoin vehicle experienced significant redemptions, outrunning creations by 8.3 to one over the six months to June 30, 2026. The REX-Osprey SOL and Staking ETF reported two expense ratios: 0.75% excluding tax expense and 1.47% including it.
IBIT, a US Solana staking fund, saw its options position and exercise limit approved to move from 250,000 contracts to 1,000,000 contracts on the same side of the market. The Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF distributed $21.150 million of shares in sponsor staking rewards.
