Crypto ETFs Lose Over $117 Million on October 5 Amid Broad Outflows
U.S. crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) faced significant outflows on October 5, with Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana products collectively losing $117.9 million. Bitcoin ETFs led the decline, recording $89.8 million in net outflows, while Ether products lost $18.9 million, and Solana ETFs saw $9.2 million in withdrawals.
The outflows marked a sharp reversal from Friday, October 2, when Bitcoin funds attracted $189.9 million, Ether lost $37.4 million, and Solana added $1.3 million. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the only Bitcoin ETF to record positive flows on Monday, attracting $69.9 million. However, withdrawals from Fidelity’s FBTC ($74.5 million) and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB ($85.2 million) contributed to the overall decline.
Ether ETFs extended their losing streak to five consecutive negative sessions, with Fidelity’s FETH accounting for the entire $18.9 million withdrawal. Solana ETFs also weakened, reversing Friday’s modest inflow with $9.2 million in net withdrawals. Despite the outflows, Bitcoin ETFs still maintain a positive balance for October due to strong inflows on October 1 and 2.
The outflows occurred while Bitcoin prices remained around the mid-$80,000 range, challenging resistance near $87,000. This suggests that ETF demand did not strengthen alongside the latest price recovery. Overall, the session highlighted a consistent negative trend across major spot-crypto ETF categories.
