Crypto Exchange Fees: A Head-To-Head Comparison Reveals Surprising Disparities
The cost of trading cryptocurrencies can vary significantly between different exchanges and interfaces offered by those exchanges. A recent study compared head-to-head several popular cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance, Coinbase, Bitpanda, eToro, and others.
The comparison pages revealed that some providers offer two separate interfaces with vastly different fees: one for simple instant buys and another for professional trading. For example, Binance charges 1.75% for an instant buy but only 0.10% for trading through the pro interface.
The study also highlighted the importance of considering withdrawal fees, which can be significant for small transactions. In addition, providers without a published fee may still charge a markup on the price of the cryptocurrency being purchased.
