Crypto Execs Meet White House Amid CLARITY Act Delays

Share

Senior executives from the US crypto industry met with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to discuss the passage of the CLARITY Act. The bill's proponents believe its swift approval could boost job creation and economic growth, as well as attract back to the US companies that had moved overseas due to regulatory uncertainty.

The meeting took place ahead of a White House event featuring President Donald Trump and leading figures from the crypto sector. Attendees included Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Andreessen Horowitz partner Chris Dixon, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi. They emphasized the need for bipartisan support to overcome ethics provisions holding up the legislation.

The CLARITY Act has been delayed in the Senate due to disagreements between Democrats and Republicans over ethics provisions related to Trump's crypto business. The Senate is set to hold its first procedural vote on September 15, following its August recess.
