Crypto Fights Back Against Democrats

The crypto industry is weighing its options in response to the Democratic party's stance on regulations. Some executives have signaled a desire to punish Democrats, but this approach comes with significant risks for the industry.

According to Sheila Warren, former CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation, 'As much as some people may want to, they can't wave a wand and make Democrats go away.' The reality is that lawmakers are unlikely to change their stance overnight.

The industry's spending could have immediate consequences after the election. Democrats are signaling that a Senate GOP-aligned spending spree would suppress any appetite for lame duck dealmaking involving the Clarity bill, although it remains uncertain whether this bill will be revived.

Fairshake PAC, funded by Coinbase and Ripple, among others, has $120 million at its disposal as of August. The group is preparing to announce additional spending decisions in support of both Democrats and Republicans.
