Crypto Giants Resume Buying Amid Market Upswing
Crypto market leaders Strategy and Bitmine are back in the buying game. After weeks of dormancy, Strategy, the world's largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, has resumed purchasing Bitcoin (BTC). According to a statement from founder Michael Saylor, the company bought an additional 950 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 846,000 BTC.
This acquisition is part of Strategy's larger strategy to build up its reserves. The company currently holds assets worth $6.09 billion, which would cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.8 years. Saylor notes that the funds will be used to support the company's operations and growth initiatives.
Bitmine, the world's largest holder of Ethereum (ETH), has also resumed purchasing, buying an additional 27,562 ETH worth around $16.1 billion at current prices. This brings Bitmine's total ETH holdings to 5,983,940, representing 4.9% of the total circulating ETH supply.
DeFi Development Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company, has also announced its entry into the Solana (SOL) market, purchasing an additional 101,381 SOL tokens worth approximately $3 million at current prices. The company plans to use these SOL holdings for staking and other purposes.
