Crypto Group Fairshake Backs 32 House Candidates with Millions
A major cryptocurrency campaign group, Fairshake, has revealed a bipartisan list of House candidates it plans to support in the upcoming midterm elections. The list includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats, all of whom backed key legislation favored by the crypto industry. Six members will receive $1 million each in support, while the remaining candidates will get unspecified amounts.
The group's spending comes after a mixed legislative year in Congress, where a key bill, the CLARITY Act, was blocked by Senate Democrats. Fairshake has already committed nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio, following his opposition to the crypto legislation. The group had previously spent heavily against Brown in 2024 and supported other Democratic Senate candidates, including Ruben Gallego and Elissa Slotkin.
Fairshake's spending in House races includes support for Reps. Janelle Bynum (D-Oregon), Steven Horsford (D-Nevada), and Derek Tran (D-California), as well as Reps. French Hill (R-Arkansas), Bryan Steil (R-Wisconsin), and Bill Huizenga (R-Michigan). The organization emphasizes its bipartisan approach, highlighting its support for both Democratic and Republican candidates who favor crypto innovation.
Geoff Vetter, a spokesperson for Fairshake, stated that the group has won 53 of the 57 races it engaged in this cycle. The organization remains focused on building the largest pro-crypto caucus in American history, with significant financial resources at its disposal.
