Crypto Group Fairshake Backs Bipartisan House Candidates with Millions
A major cryptocurrency campaign organization, Fairshake, has unveiled a bipartisan list of House candidates it plans to support in the upcoming November midterms. The group will back 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats, with six members receiving $1 million each in spending. All 32 candidates supported legislation that was a top priority for the crypto industry.
The bipartisan support contrasts with Fairshake’s largest general election investment so far, which was nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Brown had previously faced nearly $40 million in cryptocurrency spending in 2024, when he lost to Republican Bernie Moreno. The industry moved against Brown after Senate Democrats blocked the CLARITY Act, which aimed to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets.
Fairshake plans to provide significant financial backing to several competitive House races. On the Democratic side, Reps. Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada, and Derek Tran of California will each receive $1 million. On the Republican side, Reps. French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, and Bill Huizenga of Michigan will also get $1 million each. The group did not disclose how much it is spending on the other 26 House candidates it is supporting.
The organization emphasizes its bipartisan approach, highlighting its investments in primaries and special elections this year. Fairshake and its affiliated groups spent $40 million supporting 29 Democrats and $31 million supporting 28 Republicans. The group claims to have won 53 of the 57 races it engaged in this cycle.
