Crypto Group Fairshake to Spend Millions on Bipartisan House Races
A major cryptocurrency campaign organization, Fairshake, has unveiled a bipartisan list of House members it plans to support in the upcoming November midterms. The group will back 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats, with six members receiving $1 million each in spending. All 32 lawmakers supported key cryptocurrency legislation, highlighting the industry's push for regulatory clarity.
The announcement comes after a mixed legislative year for the crypto industry, as Senate Democrats blocked the CLARITY Act, which aimed to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets. Fairshake responded by pledging nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio, who previously faced nearly $40 million in crypto-related spending in 2024.
Fairshake emphasized its bipartisan approach, noting it has supported both Democratic and Republican candidates in primaries and special elections this year. The group spent $40 million on 29 Democrats and $31 million on 28 Republicans, claiming a 53-4 win record in engaged races. The organization aims to build the largest pro-crypto caucus in American history.
Among the House candidates receiving $1 million each are Reps. Janelle Bynum (D-Oregon), Steven Horsford (D-Nevada), Derek Tran (D-California), French Hill (R-Arkansas), Bryan Steil (R-Wisconsin), and Bill Huizenga (R-Michigan). Fairshake did not disclose spending amounts for the remaining 26 candidates it supports.
