Crypto Group Targets Key House Races with $6 Million in Bipartisan Support
A leading cryptocurrency campaign group, Fairshake, has revealed its bipartisan list of U.S. House candidates it will support in the upcoming November midterms. The organization plans to back 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats, with six members receiving $1 million each in spending. All 32 candidates supported key cryptocurrency legislation that stalled in Congress this year.
Fairshake’s spending contrasts with its earlier $30 million investment against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio. The group had previously spent nearly $40 million opposing Brown in 2024. The industry turned against Brown after Senate Democrats blocked the CLARITY Act, which aimed to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets.
Three Democrats and three Republicans will receive the most support from Fairshake, including Reps. Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada, Derek Tran of California, French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, and Bill Huizenga of Michigan. Fairshake emphasized its bipartisan approach, highlighting its support for both Democratic and Republican candidates in primaries and special elections this year.
The cryptocurrency industry is looking to the next Congress to revive stalled legislation. Geoff Vetter, a Fairshake spokesperson, stated, "Fairshake has always been and always will be an issue-focused organization. We back pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties." The group reported about $120 million in cash on hand at the end of August.
