Crypto Group Touts Low-Stakes Endorsements Ahead of Midterms
A prominent cryptocurrency group's endorsements in the current election cycle have largely gone to candidates in low-stakes races, according to an analysis by Bloomberg Government. The group, Stand With Crypto, has endorsed politicians who are seen as friendly to the industry's priorities.
The organization, backed by Coinbase, announced 32 new endorsements last week, bringing its midterm total to 38. Of these, 22 were in races where the incumbent lawmakers are running for reelection and are not considered competitive.
Stand With Crypto also endorsed candidates in races where two pro-crypto individuals are already facing off, suggesting that the group is prioritizing support for politicians who align with their interests rather than those with a strong chance of winning.
