Crypto Hits 'Micron Moment', Token Volumes Set to Soar
Crypto has reached its 'Micron moment', according to Wall Street veteran Jordi Visser. He used the term for a repricing that happens much faster than investors expect, as was the case with Micron (MU) shares. Visser said he expected the stock to double or triple, but it rose 14 times on earnings growth. He added that token volumes are set to go 'through the roof' due to tokenization, stablecoin payments, and AI agents.
Visser said tokenization will allow institutional investors to gain broader exposure to the crypto ecosystem. He noted that large investors already want crypto exposure but are limited to exchange-traded funds (ETFs), digital asset treasury companies, and a handful of listed stocks. He added that tokenization will expand the investment options.
Visser's views on crypto have shifted over time. Earlier this year, he said he had made about eight times his money on Micron before selling his entire stake. He then turned more bullish on Bitcoin (BTC), stating that it had joined a short list of things that survive repeated waves of change, along with religion, gold, and Bitcoin.
