Crypto Industry Drops Seven-Figure Ad Blitz on US Senate Ahead of CLARITY Act Vote

Share

A seven-figure advertising campaign is set to target the US Senate in support of the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at regulating cryptocurrency. The campaign, paid for by the Cedar Innovation Foundation, a 501(c)(4) linked to the Fairshake super PAC network, will run on national cable channels including CNBC, Fox News, and CNN.

The ads will feature three different spots, with two of them highlighting endorsements from AARP and law enforcement organizations. The third ad takes aim at the banking industry, accusing it of opposing the legislation in order to protect its profits.

The Cedar Innovation Foundation is not required to disclose its donors due to its 501(c)(4) status, which means that the public will not be aware of who is funding the campaign. This has raised concerns about accountability and transparency in the cryptocurrency industry's political spending.
