Crypto Industry Groups Press Senate Leaders for Clarity on CLARITY Act
US cryptocurrency industry groups are pushing Senate leaders to bring the CLARITY Act to a full vote. The bill, which addresses regulatory issues in the digital-asset market, lacks enough support to move forward and currently does not have the 60 votes needed to clear procedural hurdles in the Senate.
The Digital Chamber, the Crypto Council, and the Blockchain Association are urging Senate leaders to advance the CLARITY Act. This legislation would clarify the distinction between securities and commodities in the digital-asset market, allocate oversight authority, and establish a regulatory framework for exchanges and brokerages.
Industry groups warn that delays in passing the bill could prolong regulatory uncertainty for crypto businesses in the US. The current state of affairs has left many wondering when clarity will be achieved.
