Robinhood Eyes Crypto.com Partnership in Intensifying Prediction-Markets Race
Robinhood is in talks with Crypto.com to add the cryptocurrency exchange's event contracts to its prediction-markets platform, according to The Wall Street Journal. This potential partnership would allow Robinhood users to trade Crypto.com's yes-or-no contracts through the brokerage's existing prediction-markets hub.
The proposed agreement comes as the prediction-markets space intensifies, with multiple players vying for market share. Robinhood entered the sector early last year through a partnership with Kalshi, offering contracts linked to sporting events and Federal Reserve interest-rate decisions.
However, analysts have recorded a decline in the share of Kalshi's trading volumes coming from Robinhood customers, highlighting how the former partners are moving onto each other's territory. Crypto.com has also expanded aggressively in the sector, launching its standalone prediction-markets platform OG in February and partnering with Trump Media & Technology Group to introduce prediction markets to Truth Social.
