Crypto Industry Spends Big to Keep Sherrod Brown from Returning to D.C.
The cryptocurrency industry is taking aim at former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown's return to office in Ohio. A super PAC called Fairshake, funded by crypto interests, plans to spend around $30 million to keep Brown from winning a special election against GOP Sen. Jon Husted.
This effort comes after Democrats voted down a digital asset bill supported by the industry, according to Politico. The PAC has already spent about $40 million in 2024 to defeat Brown in his previous Senate race.
Brown's campaign manager fired back at Husted and the crypto-funded super PAC, saying they are 'panicking' because Brown will 'stand up for working Ohioans' if re-elected.
