Crypto Industry Spends Millions to Keep Sherrod Brown Out of Ohio Senate

The cryptocurrency industry is funding a super PAC called Fairshake to spend around $30 million in the Ohio Senate race. The goal is to prevent former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown from returning to office, as he faces GOP Sen. Jon Husted in a special election.

This effort follows Democrats' rejection of a digital asset bill supported by the crypto industry, according to Politico. Fairshake previously spent approximately $40 million to defeat Brown in the 2024 Ohio Senate race.

Brown's campaign manager criticized Husted, stating that he serves billionaires who are pouring money into the race to keep him in office. This comment reflects concerns about the influence of special interests in politics.
