Crypto Industry Unfazed by CLARITY Act Setback
Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong have downplayed the significance of the CLARITY Act's failure to advance in the Senate. According to CZ, technological progress in the crypto space will continue despite the setback. He stated that the industry would not be halted by a single piece of legislation.
Armstrong echoed similar sentiments, saying that the Senate's inability to pass the bill was disappointing but ultimately did not affect the trajectory of crypto development. He pointed out that the SEC and CFTC already have existing authority to create clearer rules for the industry.
The GENIUS Act, which provides a framework for stablecoins, has also been cited as evidence that progress in the space will continue regardless of legislative outcomes.
