Crypto Industry's $8 Million Lobbying Effort Falls Flat on Clarity Act
CoinDesk has revealed that the cryptocurrency industry gave $8 million to lobbyists who failed to close the deal on the Clarity Act, a proposed regulatory bill aimed at clarifying cryptocurrency's place in the US financial system.
The lobbying efforts were led by Mercury Public Affairs and FGS Global, which received a total of $4.5 million from the industry, with Coinbase being one of the largest contributors.
Despite the significant investment, the Clarity Act did not pass, leaving many in the industry wondering what went wrong.
