A total of $8 million was donated by the crypto industry to lobbyists working on behalf of the Clarity Act, which aimed to address regulatory uncertainty surrounding cryptocurrencies. This funding was provided over several years, starting from 2015.

The financial support came from various sources within the crypto ecosystem, but unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. The initiative failed to secure a deal that would have clarified the regulatory environment for digital assets.
