Crypto Inflows Surge Past $3.5 Billion After Fed Rate Hike
The Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates by 0.25 percentage points to a range of 3.75% to 4.00% on September 16 did not deter investors from pouring $3.55 billion into crypto funds, the largest weekly inflow in 2026.
CoinShares, an asset manager that tracks these flows, noted that the rebound was due to institutional conviction returning once the policy decision removed a key source of uncertainty.
The majority of this investment came from US products, which drew $3.43 billion of the total, with Bitcoin (BTC) funds taking in $2.52 billion and Ethereum (ETH) funds adding $702 million.
MicroStrategy, the company that holds 847,666 BTC, bought 1,666 more last week by selling new shares of its stock, MSTR, which dilutes existing shareholders.
