Crypto King Aiden Pleterski Faces Trial for Alleged $30 Million Fraud

Aiden Pleterski, known as the 'crypto king,' is set to defend himself in an Ontario court next week. The trial is related to allegations that he defrauded investors out of around $30 million between 2021 and 2022 through false claims about large weekly profits from digital assets.

The charges against Pleterski, filed in May 2024, include money laundering and fraud. If convicted of the fraud charge alone, he could face up to 14 years in prison.

Pleterski's trial is expected to run for about four weeks, with him representing himself due to his inability to secure a delay for counsel. This comes after he was kidnapped and tortured by individuals demanding payment from him in December 2022.
