Crypto liquidations hit $168 million with long positions leading
Over a 24-hour period, crypto markets saw $168 million in liquidations, with long positions making up the majority at approximately $106 million. Short positions accounted for the remaining $61.8 million. The data highlights that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) long positions totaled $52.3 million, with BTC longs contributing $39.7 million and ETH longs $12.7 million. On the short side, liquidations amounted to $13.6 million for BTC and $7.4 million for ETH.
The period saw around 64,000 traders facing liquidations. The most significant single liquidation was an $11.85 million BTCUSDT position on the Binance exchange. This sharp movement underscores the volatility and risk inherent in crypto trading.
