Crypto Market Approaches Critical Resistance Level
The cryptocurrency market is approaching a critical resistance level of $2.95 trillion, having retreated slightly from its local high of $2.93 trillion. This comes as the market continues to test the limits of its upward momentum, with cryptocurrencies trading steadily against a backdrop of relatively stable stock market indices and a strengthening US dollar.
Among the top performers over the past day were Cardano, The Graph, and Near Protocol, which saw gains of 11.1%, 7.1%, and 6.9% respectively. In contrast, BAT, Immutable, and Internet Computer underperformed, losing 3.9%, 2%, and 1.1% respectively.
Bitcoin briefly touched levels above $87,000 on Monday morning but was met with a sharp surge in selling, reminiscent of previous instances. The price has approached the apex of a triangle formed by horizontal resistance and rising support, setting the stage for increased volatility.
Near Protocol has been a standout performer, with a 130% rise over the past 30 days. The coin's price has returned above $5, nearing its highs seen since last year, and is well-positioned to reach its 2024 target of around $8.
