Crypto Market Braces for Inflation Data, Treasury Buybacks Ahead of FOMC Meeting
The crypto market is bracing for impact this week as key inflation data and monetary policy decisions are set to shape its trajectory. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will release August's Producer Price Index (PPI) on Thursday, September 10, with economists predicting a 0.3% monthly increase in headline PPI.
On Friday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for August will be released, with Wall Street estimates pegged at 3.4% year-over-year alongside a monthly increase of 0.4%. The U.S. Treasury is also gearing up for $14.5 billion in debt buybacks this week, which could positively impact the crypto market.
The Federal Reserve's September 15-16 policy meeting will be closely watched by investors, with CME FedWatch tool hinting at a hawkish move. The chances of a Fed rate hike to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16 are currently at 60.5%, while there is a 39.5% chance that rates will stay within the 3.50%-3.75% range.
