Crypto Market Cap Hits $2.96 Trillion as BTC Fluctuates Around $84,000
The global cryptocurrency market cap rose by 0.3% to $2.96 trillion over the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin briefly broke above $85,000, touching a high of $85,500, after August PCE inflation data came in below expectations.
However, gains were given back as elevated Treasury yields cooled risk appetite, with BTC settling back around $83,700 during the day.
The price movement was largely flat on the week, with Bitcoin up 0.8% and Ethereum nearly flat over seven days.
